Urban Public Finance Data

This system provides public finance data for individual cities and metropolitan areas from a database derived from the Census of Governments. It contains data on public expenditures, revenues, and employees for 541 metropolitan central cities for Fiscal Years 1992 and 1997 as well as for a select group of 101 metropolitan areas, and their associated central cities and suburbs for Fiscal Year 1997.

Please see Methodology & Definitions for more details. Data for the "Suburbs" are calculated as the data for the metropolitan area less the sum of the data for all central cities (if any) in the metropolitan area.

To retrieve a city's data, first choose its State or Metropolitan Area
